18:14 Mao understood this. quite early in the Chinese revolution, Chiang Kai-shek captured Mao's sweetheart/wife and his baby and had them executed BECAUSE they were Mao's family. Later, a part of Chiang's army revolted and were going to execute him and Mao stopped them, because he thought that it would hinder the war against Japan if they did.
