  1. Why is the west so inimical to Russia? I think a lot of the blame must go to the MSM. This goes way back, to long before WW1. The British elites were always fearful that the Russians were going to "steal" the Indian Empire from them! "The Great Game" goes back to well before MacKinder and the MSM in the 19th Century was always making flesh-creeping stories about the Russians. When in 1904, the Russian Baltic Fleet came past Britain on its way to the Far East, there was nearly a panic in London. Do you remember the scare when some Scotsman reported seeing a platoon of Russian soldiers marching in the Highlands? On inquiry he "knew" they were Russians (It turned out.) "because they had snow on their boots". (Sic.)
