This is a risk that NATO undertook enthusiastically a year ago, when they thought that they were invincible and Russia was going to be a push-over. Their trouble is, that they believed their own propaganda. They did not check that they had the means to fight, if the Russians fought back. To put it crudely, they were caught short. It is fascinating and at the same time, extremely alarming to see what NATO will do next. You can bet they will be the sorest of sore losers.
