The US is stupid to think they might be able to get China to lean on the Russians to end the war in Ukraine. Just think, what is the US's declared reason for not wanting to supply Ukraine with ATACMS? It is they need them for "Other Conflicts". Like what? Well, like attacking China! So, they are asking China to free them up to get ready for a war on China? That's exactly what it looks like. The Russians are forcing the Ukrainians to use up NATO's stockpile of Weapons, faster than NATO can make new ones. NATO (Aka the US.) wants these weapons to fight China. So, the longer the war in Ukraine goes on the easier it will be for the Chinese to beat the US War Machine if they are attacked and the less is the likelihood of the US daring to attack them. There is an old Chinese proverb that says, something to the effect of: "When your enemy is making a stupid mistake, don't interrupt him!"
