People in NATO countries have frequently blamed NATO for causing the War in Ukraine. Hardly surprising! Considering how hard NATO worked at so doing. From 2014 to February 2022 the NATO trained and led Ukraine army, attacked the Russian-speaking provinces of Ukraine, killing 14,000 of them in the process, about 10,000 of those being civilians. Then in Feb 2022 they announced that they were going to clear the Russian-speaking provinces (The Donbas) of all Russian-speakers either by driving them out or by killing them. This left the Russian government the choice of either:
A) going to the rescue of their fellow Russian-speakers or standing by and letting them be killed or driven out and seeing a NA*I-led, NATO-affiliated government in Ukraine or
B) going to war with NATO.
The first choice would have been domestically politically impossible for the Russian government, the second choice looked (To many Western observers and particularly to NATO strategists:) suicidal. As it turned out, the Russians were not so weak, corrupt, incompetent, rebellious, inefficient, badly led, badly trained, badly-armed, etc., etc. as they had been portrayed in Western propaganda. The expected easy victory for "the largest NATO-trained and armed army in Europe", has failed to materialize and we are now looking at a possible Russian victory.
