I say that because, to have a fuctioning democracy, the Demos, the voters iow, need access to reliable, accurate, information. The present set up is one where the source of "Information", for most voters is a monopoly of about six extremely wealthy corporations, who have their own firmly entrenched ideas, on what they want people to know and what falsehoods, they want people to believe. As there is, virtually no penalty, for telling the Demos complete lies, false suggestions and suppressing unwelcome news, the voting patterns are completely distorted in a way that is a mockery of the term"Democracy".
