@sox3443 "Freedom" is often spoken of as an absolute, but it is not, Freeedom is if you like a two-sided coin. If i am free to go around robbing people, they are not free of the fear of being robbed. You can say that one person's freedom means someone else's restriction of freedom. In practical societies you need both rules and agreed freedoms and these vary from one society to another. In Ukraine there are laws restricting the freedom of inhabitants to speak, or educate their children in their own native language. E.g. Russian, but also Hungarian, Romanian and Greek, Maybe also other languages but anything except Ukrainian is forbidden. This is a gross restriction of the freedom of Ukrainians which is impossible rationally to justify.

This game has been played determinedly and diligently, for the best part of seventy years with considerable success. However, what with the advent of the internet the MSM has been less and less able to "Fool all the people all the time". This has become very obvious, since the start of the Pandemic. (Perhaps because more people had more time to look at the internet?) If you look back at the Chat Columns of yesteryear, this change is brought into sharp relief. One sign that things were changing, in a direction that the ptb did not like, was when such organs as "The Guardian" and "The Independant" cancelled ("Temporarily suspended") their chat columns. Nowadays, even in pro-government videos, where they have chat columns, the proportion of dissident voices is quite substantial and in some videos, almost 100%.

@walterstoll8043 I think political parties ought to screen all candidates for elected office for symptoms of paranoia, psychopathy and sociopathy. Yes, and independent candidates, should have to produce a certificate from a registered psychiatrist, to the effect that they do not have these symptoms either.
