  2.  @N.kelvyn-m7r  Yes. I know that. The point was that some people that Alexander was talking about were saying that because Russia had a tiny little economy and the collective West has a much larger one, the West should be able to "overwhelm" the Russians. It's a non-sequitur.

In any case the productive capacity of the US was, at that time, vastly greater than that of the Vietnamese and China put together. In any case, I never heard that there were many PLA soldiers involved. I thought that the Chinese help was mostly materiel and fighter jets.
