Anent the difference in views between the officer and the maintenance squaddie, as to the simplicity of the job, of maintaining a Challenger tank II, in the field, i.e. in Ukraine: there is was story that was current during my NS, that one of the questions that an officer in training in Sandhurst was asked was : "You have a platoon of thirty men , two corporals and a sergeant and materials to build a bridge. You are faced with, you have arrived on, the banks of a swift-flowing river, 30 metres wide of unknown depth. What should your first order be?" Correct answer: "Carry on Sergeant!"
