The real reason for all the tension in the World is the US's insane, compulsive need, to be the most powerful country on the Planet. It has nothing to do with Values, or LBGTXYZ rights or enslaved Xinjiang residents or any of the other dozen "reasons". It is just a case of "World Hegemony or Bust!" At the moment it is looking increasingly like bust.

It's probably about par for the course. Their problem is, of course, hubris and a consequent failure to realize that this action needs to be thought through. These people who lack "real-world experience" are not really lazy, they just lack understanding of the necessity to work things through in advance, rather than assuming that the US does not need to, because it is all-powerful.
