It is interesting that all over this area, the US has been "assisting local forces" and all over this region, there have been local, military revolts to remove the French and that all these revolting militaries have then turned toward the Russians (Wagner) for help!. Do I see a pattern or is this just paradolia?

There are two possible answers. 1) They, unlike you (and most of the rest of the world) like the results of their "Mistakes". 2) Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different result is a symptom of madness. Since this is what they do, therefore we can conclude they are mad. (Personally I prefer conclusion 1.)
