The reason the Western leaders did not want to negotiate before Feb 24, is that they had the idea that the Ukrainians were going to make mincemeat of the Russians and together with the sanctions were going to destroy the Russian economy and bring about Regime Change in Moscow and they would all live happily ever after, or if not until then, at least until they could do something similar in Taiwan!
