The Chinese revolution that overthrew the Emperor, took place in 1911. There followed a time of warlords and attempts at a central government. The only "Emperor" after 1911 was a Japanese puppet who "ruled" from some time in the 1920s to 1945, in a Japanese occupied part of China called "Manchukuo".
