I'd be drilling three holes through that cross member, big enough to pass the long torques tool through. You would think, German engineering would have thought about that.

You sure this truck isn't stolen? The guy knows where the key is hidden but he doesn't tell you about the rigged starter button? Maybe he didn't know about the rigged starter button.
32
WOW! Lauren right off the bat! It's always nice to see Lauren. ๐
27
Like painting the walls in your kitchen. Then you repaint the cabinets. Then you replace the flooring. Then you replace the countertops. Then you replace the appliances. Then ............................................. on and on and on. :face-orange-frowning: Always nice to see Lauren.
27
Oh, they're divorced. This is the alimony. :face-orange-frowning:

Such a pleasure to see what an engine bay should look like. Not too many remember them. I used to sit on the fender with my feet dangling inside to work on the engine. Those were the days. ๐ฉ๐
25
Always nice to see Lauren. The truck? Strip what you can sell and junk the rest.
20
Always nice to see Lauren. It's good to see you've done your home work on the injectors. Makes a world of difference. ๐ Before you sign off, don't forget what you dropped.
19
Banks seems like a quality company. Hats off to them.
18
Always nice to see Lauren.
18
Starting to look like a professional shop. Good work, Lauren. ๐
16
Always nice to see Lauren. You have to hire a little person for this kind of work. ๐ Good video Ray. Lot's of good and useful information. I was going to compliment you on NOT saying "soooooooo" again, but you failed that one. You owe that woman an apology, It is apparently just a bad annoying habbit.
16
That flu is all up and down the east coast. Must be the drones. I've been miserable for over a week and heading for a chest x-ray in an hour. Glad you're better. Good news. No pneumonia. Still feel like crap.
16
Always nice to see Lauren.

Soldering aluminum wires: Soldering to aluminum is very difficult and quite different than soldering to copper or solder coated surfaces. The issue with aluminum is the oxide on the aluminum itself and it needs to be removed so the solder can make a electro-mechanical bond to the shield itself. In your case, a mechanical bond would be best used. Always nice to see Wife Unit. Treat her well and hire a shop helper or another mechanic. You might try your local trade schools.
15
Always nice to see Lauren. Fix the truck and donate it. Good luck to Justine. I've been down for two weeks with the flu. Regiment of steroids and antibiotics. now into my third week and still fighting it. Now others in the family are coming down with it. Not easy to break. Nasty!
15
Is that dealer out of his F'n mind? Air filter $53? Cabin filter $70? What an insult! Not to mention the rest of that BS. My mechanic wants $1500 to replace my timing cover gasket. All labor. A lot of stuff to pull off to get to it. I'll live with it. Ray. It always scares me, when you go to pull plugs and there's a bunch of crap laying around the hole. How many PCV valves on that car? That's two hoses you removed from the air intake and referred to as PVC hoses?
14
That's because Ray no longer has some 'A' hole boss breathing down his neck.
14
What's going on with the new space in the garage and what are your plans for it? ๐ค
13
Always nice to see Lauren. The Honda looks like a New England car.
13
Always nice to see Lauren. TANGENT MAN!!!!!!!!! HE'S EVERY WHERE, HE'S EVERY WHERE! ๐ฎ
12
Ray should have called the customer and gotten his permission to tear it down also.
12
Way to go Ray! Most mechanics wouldn't bother with or even notice that height problem. You're more than just a pretty face. ๐ Always nice to see Lauren.
12
Used to have a starter button down there too. Hows that for age.
12
My mechanic will clean up the lights on any car that comes into his garage for work. No cost. You remind me of my son-in-law. Won't read the directions to save his life. ๐ Always nice to see Lauren.
11
Really enjoy your diagnostic procedures. The circumference is a line that goes around or encloses a circle. 2. : the outer boundary of a figure or area. 3. : the distance around something. Question: Why not put the plugs in before reinstalling the valve covers?
11
A little bit of wax and it will be as good as new. ๐ I wonder how many people watching this, asked themselves, what was that he pulled out of the top of that thing the wires went into? ๐ค๐ One coil? WoW! ๐ Original cost $3.50. Today 8 coils $65 each. ๐ตโ๐ซ That old truck runs good. I'd like to see a 2023 truck, 30 years from now, run at all. Why don't you wash all that crud off before installing anything new?
10
Still looks dangerous. Always nice to see Lauren.
10
You have to start a new channel called "I fix Jeeps". Nothing better for a Jeep than Dorman parts. Good for GM too. Always nice to see Lauren.
10
I've put three pumps in and each time used two screw drivers to remove the ring. Hasn't blown up yet. I'm lucky. I have a Mazda Tribute with a nice little door under the back seat that gives me access to the pump. Why other manufacturers can't do this is beyond me. ๐
10
Can't wait to see Troy try that on his own. ๐ Always nice to see Lauren no matter how brief.
10
Always nice to see Lauren. We don't get to see her enough. The car looks like something we would take to the Jersey Pines and wreck. That thing is almost as good as a 3 cylinder Suzuki. The frame looks like something you would make shelving out of. 18:50 DID YOU SEE THAT (?) CRAWLING UNDER THE CAR (BRIEFLY AT THE TOP LEFT) JUST BEFORE YOU PUT YOUR HAND UP THERE?
9
Nice part about watching Ray is that we know not to ever buy a Jeep, Chevy/GMC or a Toyota.
9
I'm in a crappy mood. I better not reply. ๐คฌ
8
You don't remember? The first thing to do is check the vehicle folder, be it paper or computer, to see what was done previously to the car. Always nice to see the Wife Unit.
8
Nice Pontiac. Beautiful shape. Many years ago, my mechanic rebuilt my compressor instead of replacing it. Replaced all the 'O' rings. Haven't had a bit of problems since.
8
I didn't know that about the clips. Learn something new every day. You're never too old to learn. Thanks Ray. Always nice to see Lauren. If anything is a DIY job, this is.
8
Almost?
8
Always nice to see Lauren. Who designed that stupid pulley? Those engineers must laugh at GM when they accept their designs. The dealer would do just what you did and charge the full 4 hours. I'll never own another GM product.
7
Always nice to see Lauren. Job looks like $$$$.
7
7:50 Do you ever put your tools away? 17:44 Are you saying the shop is haunted? ๐ค๐ง๐น 24:00 They do sell other funnels. So? Will we ever get "The Story of Troy"?
7
If he doesn't close the doors, time and a half kicks in. ๐
7
ย @MrMustangManย He deserves it.
7
Probably the wrench you dropped. ๐ Guess: Old used gear with a new paint job? I thought so. I would think about a new supplier.
7
Always nice to see Lauren.
6
Always nice to see Lauren. Missed her on the last video. And a Genesis is just a Hyundai, A Cadillac is just a GM. Lincoln is just a Ford. Must I go on? ๐ Does this guy ever maintain the car? The car has definitely been North. The used is better than what he had. The customer should be made aware of the used part and the reason for using it. Thanks for not putting us through the fluid changes. Good video.
6
I remember when we didn't have alternators. Generator $35 and changed in 15 minutes.
6
Always nice to see Lauren.
6
I'm not a mechanic and I knew that. ๐
6
Always nice to see you.
