  1. Seems like a lot of unnecessary work. Get a tile cutter or any sharp knife and cut the bottom piece apart then all you have to do is remove the stripping. Do the same to the new stripping and install it. It's not a vacuum seal and water won't get through the cut piece if you install it right. The strip is behind the glass. Why you are replacing the plastic on the glass is beyond me.
