  2. The island was over 80% Greek before the Turkish invasion. The island has been Greek continously for over 3000 years. Tell me what business does Turkey have in Cyprus? They invaded the North and settled people from mainland Turkey there. Yes the 17% or so of Turks which inhabited the island fled to the North but it wasn't anywhere near enough to fill up all the land they took, hence the current donkey problem due to the abandoned farms.

  3. Cyprus is a Greek island. Its been Greek for over 3000 years. Before the invasion Cyprus was over 80% Greek. So tell me exactly how isn't it a Greek island? Cyprus had a higher percentage of Greeks in it than Istanbul's current percentage of Turks. Is Istanbul not Turkish?

  5. What business should Turkey have with Cyprus? The island was over 80% Greek before the Turkish invasion. Why should Turkey invade the North then populate it with settlers from mainland Turkey? That is colonialism. Greeks are natives of the island.

  8.  @vaszi101  Greece and Turkey have also been allies for a very long time now. It doesn't seem like it means much in terms of relations considering Greece and Turkey almost went to war in 2020. Bulgaria is not an ally of Turkey, they just both exist in the same anti-Russian alliance, but not real allies generally..

  11. They've been Greek for thousands of years. Greeks have always inhabited them, Turks never lived on those islands, they just collected taxes and such from them during the ottoman times.
