@irritatedanglosaxon1705 if Taiwan reunited with China it would be poor in freedoms and rights. Nobody would sacrifice these just to "enjoy all the luxuries in China"

@88kgold theres plenty of evidence about China as well. Just because you go there and everything seems great doesn't mean it is. I dare you to go to China with a Winnie the Pooh t-shirt, then I'm sure you'll see how China really is. Also careful not to die in a flood and have the government cover it up when you go. You know the CCP is the only reason North Korea still exists and it's people live the way they do. They saved them in the Korean war and keep them afloat nowadays with pretty much unrestricted trade

@88kgold The people aren't all "satisfied" with their government. Tell that to people who had family die in the recent floods and had the government tell them nobody really died. They even barricaded up where people were putting flowers because it showed how many people really died. Chinese people have no option to be unsatisfied with their government. Any criticism they voice can put them in prison or worse.

@88kgold the deaths occurred due to government negligence. Poorly maintained drainage systems, they didn't shut down subway systems, their tunnels supposedly had really advanced anti flooding technology but completely flooded anyways (so just lies). Also talking about climate change, China outputs more greenhouse gas than the entire developed world combined.. so maybe China should stop burning so much coal and it wouldn't be as much of an issue

@囧囧囧-w6t protest at an embassy of course.. because protesting in actual China will get you thrown into prison. How much do they pay you to defend the oppression of your own people? Or do you just lack the sense to see it for yourself? North Koreans also think they live in some Utopia completely oblivious to the rest of the world.

China proper only ruled over Taiwan for about 212 years total (1683-1895) I think the main reason China cares so much about Taiwan is that the Taiwanese government is the last remaining remnant of the old Chinese government, and they still to this day lay claim to all of China's territory.

@tairanwang6119 are you trying to say that the only freedoms and rights we have is to express opinions openly? We have much more freedom than that.. I would list them all but I really don't have the time to write a list out you can easily Google. You live in Canada right? Why do you neglect the freedoms you have there? You have access to the open internet yet you refuse to do any actual unbiased research on China. It's sad just how thoroughly the CCP has brainwashed China into hating the west. The west does not hate the people of China. Why do the CCP so heavily censor information? What don't they want the people of China to know?

@carterlou3085 China has a very heavily censored internet and information is tightly controlled. In other countries (aside from North Korea) you do not have this issue so it is fair to say, someone who has done a lot of research on China would know it better than a Chinese local who only hears the good things about it. Tell me why your government spends more money on internal policing and control than they do their actual military? Why do they need to spend so much I wonder.. also go on and tell me what you think of "Xi Jinping Thought" being taught to young children in school and how it isn't brainwashing? Thanks.
