When I saw Lenin in 2003, he looked like he was kind of falling apart. They will never remove him. Too many would be triggered. Look how triggered Russia got when the Czech Republic removed a statue of a Soviet general in Prague- to the point the Kremlin may have sent a hit team to Prague to demonetize the mayor. If all the Stalin monuments were still around today, they wouldn't be removed, either- they are heroes of the ultra nationalists...

@douglaspage2398 You'd think Russians would be embarrassed by reverence for Lenin- kind of like how most Germans don't want to be reminded of their past...

Kind of a sad state of affairs if a nation was better off under communism. All of the former satellites and republics who are in the EU have now far surpassed Russia, as far as median income and standard of living. Even Serbia is begging to get in the EU...

@serdarjanko1040 The Czech Republic is orders or magnitude better off free than under the USSR control. Same with Slovakia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Poland, and every other nation which is now in the EU. Looking to dictatorships for help- like Russia and China, rather than the west is why some countries will remain stagnant or deteriorate...
