  1. Oh gawd! Some of those comments are hilarious. In Portugal, at sixth grade kids start learning a new language, normally French or usually English. In later stages, students can learn other languages like German. It depends on what they are studying for.

  2. Learning English at four years old even before learning the basics of Portuguese? Are you kidding me? I know the system changed several times from when I was a student fifty years ago, but I don't buy that.
