  1. Every single inch of NATO territory? NATO does not hold any territory, it belongs to each separate sovereign state, it is a military alliance by treaty, not a Government. However, the EU does want to be a federalist Government overriding ALL those sovereign governments. Within NATO they can choose what they will or will not do, as sovereign governments to match their own policies, whereas under an EU Federalist Armed Forces they would have no choice, much the same as no US state can opt out of a Government choice for war or operational deployment. An EU Army had a parallel in ww2 called the Waffen SS. After the threats and bullying of Poland , Hungary etc over border controls by the EU would you trust an Army controlled by the EU?
