  1. @Lt-Col Walter Mitty short staffing came about when they changed traditional nursing to Project 2000 then students in college not on the wards, then cut the nursing schools and places, then over to Polytechnics and Universities, at the same time they cut out the highly experienced SEN EN(G) nurses offering less places for conversion to SRN RGN, causing many to leave or be down graded to HCA's, and a whole host of other changes. Many people who would make great nurses as a vocation are now unable to access places due much higher basic qualification requirements much of which is down to the RCN. Many of my relatives are nurses and have seen the changes and the damaging effects.

  3. @Lt-Col Walter Mitty I have worked with many foreign nurses and i disagree, but we need more home based students too, there are many people who want to be nurses but who never get a chance from the British people.
