If the west and NATO had listened to Russia's genuine concerns and compromised on moving forward into having Ukraine as a NATO member, and left it as a Neutral state "buffer zone", then none of this need gave happened. Considering USA-NATO has a track record for attacking other nations, two of which Jugoslavia/Serbia and Syria were non aligned/neutral, (in the case of Syria having refused a planned US/Saudi oil pipeline via Syrian territory, from Saudi to Germany, somehow oil always seem to be a factor in these cases) Russia had genuine concerns for it's safety and security. There is no reason why European nations in NATO or European non-aligned nations, could not have peacefully co-existed and traded openly with Russia another European nation, by supressing all this Cold War Mk 2 bullshit, the Soviet Union is gone but the mentality in the USA-NATO is still there in order for NATO to have a reason to continue existing. Now because of oil/energy which the USA wants to dominate for the $ USD we are close to an escalation which could destroy us all. For so called wise, and honourable men the whole lot of them are a bunch of fools, considering that the consequences could be MAD Mutually Assured DEATH, they are all bloody mad, and risking all our lives. I find that insanity totally unacceptable. Having said that we should build up all our strategic industries again to make sure we are NOT vulnerable and totally reliant on external suppliers, but to be self-sufficient in steel, manufacturing, agriculture, food production, water conservation ( new reservoirs and a water grid system) to stop wasting water in floods, defence manufacturing, fuel and energy supplies and a whole lot more, where our nation can actually apply it's own resources to achieving those aims. The tragedy in Ukraine, including the war crimes of Ukraine against ethnic Russians for 8 years, since the 2014 Nuland Biden illegal regime change coup, should be recognised as genuine concerns by Russia being ignored which led to this mess. European, USA and NATO leaders seem to step from one manure pile into another and nobody has clean feet.
