was it not the British bases in Cyprus from which David Cameron commenced the air attacks on Libya that opened the Libyan civil war atrocity, that has continued for 12 years. After he had cancelled our Nimrod maritime patrol aircraft, our Sea Harriers, our small Aircraft Carriers, leaving a 10 year defence gap in British defences and causing our aircrew to have to fly from Cyprus to attack Libya. Now we have the same David Cameron pushing the war in Ukraine and at the same time crawling to the Israelis over Gaza and providing Netanyahu's nazis ( with whom the majority of Israelis disagree) with defences , our UK defences while we cannot even protect our own borders. No coincidence that there are mass resources in each case to be exploited Libya oil Ukraine minerals, gold, diamonds, uranium Israel oil and gas Syria oil etc None of which the west has any right to. Johnson and Cameron go back a long way together, and the results lots of suffering and much blood on their hands, and now joined by Sunak. They really love nazis. It seems von der Leyen reverts back to her forebears Albrecht and the nazis of ww2 I wonder how much and in league with whom Cameron has his financial interests in I wonder who in Britain has multi million investments in Odessa?

Cyprus is independent, the SBA's Sovereign Base Areas helped the Greek Cypriots when the Turks invaded, and provided much humanitarian support. They also provide rescue helicopters and some vessels which aid civilians and military. It is a matter of co-operation, trade, tourism, commerce, not colonisation. I disagree totally with the SBA's being used for Israel or anyone to drag Cyprus into another war as was done by Camoron back in c 2012. Cyprus has seen enough violence. I am a Brit myself.

@sportsfanivosevic9885 Cyprus is a nation recognised internationally therefore independent and worthy of respect, just as San Marino, Monaco, Liechtenstein, Luxemburg, just because they are small makes no difference. It is sad that it is divided due to Turkish invasion and atrocities they committed, but in their own entity they are independent.

Sweden now in NATO to fight anyone USA decides, and a major target because of it, YET they cannot defend their nation against the immigrant gangs, terrorists, rapists and thugs. USA wanted Finland and Sweden alongside Norway to threaten Russia's legitimate sea lanes and transport off the northern arctic coasts where Russia has legal and legitimate territories and resources they want to protect. Three more nations to be victims and target to protect the USA and be sacrificed in conflict. I wonder whether anyone was asked if they wanted this. I know the Norwegians were p'd off with the piles of crap the US left behind after recent arctic exercises. Remember too Trump wanted to buy Greenland to get closer to the arctic resources, and the Greenlanders resources, and they sensibly said NO.

@ivicarepic3427 Unfortunately as a Brit i have to agree. Our Frigates are also apparently having engines replaced with a darned great hole cut in the side. For an island not having a decent navy, or coastguard with patrol boats or naval reserves with anything decent is a distinct disadvantage. Our moronic, mis-government wastes £5 billion 475 million a year (conservative estimate) on illegals with no legal right to apply for asylum by laws crated in 2023, that money could and should have gone on defence. The traitors in London need totally replacing and no bloodstained hands like Cameron, Johnson Sunak and others ever let anywhere near our government ever again, they endanger our whole population while making the risks even higher. It seems the same kind of moronic mentality is commonplace across Europe and USA in the political classes when the ordinary folk have far more sense. They also do not support the nazis in Ukraine.
