  2. A macron is a word for a person who puts money before people, i saw it in the movie The Comancheros when Stuart Whitman is saying to Ina Balin "you want me to be a macron and put money before people" or words to that effect are there any French speakers here who can confirm?

  4. My grandfather said of the French flag "They saw the red of the blood, got out the white flag, now they have all got the blues" when my great uncle came back from Dunkirk. Not really fair as the French did fight hard, most of them, and went back in after being taken off the beaches by our people, until they finally had to give up. Their Air Force shot down a lot of Germans too, which would have been available to attack us. But my grandfather echoed the sentiments of the time, which felt the French should have fought more. This time i wonder if they have or are preparing to counterattack for their own democracy, the Farmers have a lot of power too.
