@michaelmazowiecki9195 The Poles also had their machine guns positioned to fire at a closer range than normal at the time , thus bringing more weight of fire onto the target and closer range, more damage, so i was told by a former RAF/PAF fighter pilot.

@tOtherSteve Same applied to the Royalist Serbs who came here after ww2 took their nation away under communism after they fought commies, nzs, ustache etc etc but they built new lives here and did well, hard tough and loyal people too.

@twirajuda Changed the angles of the guns and taught them to get closer to make the shot more effective too, two Poles taught me to fly, their stories were amazing

@birotariusintaberna818 I want to read those too. the official belief is that the aircraft, a Liberator was sabotaged by a German agent who came to work each day via Algeciras, and contaminated the fuel. ironic that the only survivor was the pilot.

@birotariusintaberna818 There are a lot of Poles in the UK who would disagree, two taught me to fly, and stayed here, and many i meet today also are thankful for what happened and how Poland finally gained freedom (except for EU bullies) and they could visit home again
