I usually buy my "indian" food from a Chinese Malaysian chap who cooks the best of at least 5 cultures He is originally from Penang I have enjoyed many a meal in Sikh and Hindu homes and meeting places too

@BritishLandeur One of my great uncles by marriage to an English aunt was from Serbia and i grew up among other Serbs, Poles, Italians, and even had a Hungarian as a boss for 6 weeks, great guys, great families and salt of the earth just like real UK indigenous and damned hard workers too. He came here in 1948 after losing his nation to the Communists who controlled Jugoslavia, and hundreds of family and colleagues to the Croat naahcees at Jasenovac concentration camp. He fought the Italians, Germans, Austrians, Croats and escaped to British controlled territory. They offered him a chance to go to USA or UK he chose UK and spent the rest of his life here working 7 days a week for 30 plus years. When NATO illegally bombed his people he cried, it broke his heart, he said "why? We stood alongside UK as allies in two wars and now betrayal" It seems we too are betrayed as a people and may have to fight, but not for the nahcees in Ukraine or Starmer.

@cou60 we have been invaded already, the enemy is all around us, and the mis-governments did nothing to stop it, we may have to fight, in our own country for our own people to survive, the other enemy is the current government and their allies, not mention WEF and EU.

@EpicAelflaed I happen to like Indian food and their music too it reminds me of Greek and Serbian music which i guess was down to Alexander the Great and the Greek influence in those places. Interesting name you have reads a bit like the Queen A who ruled from Tamworth Aethelflaeda ?

One of my great uncles by marriage 1949 to an English aunt was a Royalist Jugoslav soldier, Chetnik from Ravna Gora not far from Nis, lovely wine-growing area, lovely people, I went to a wedding, i felt so welcome and at home, beautiful music and food and the people outstanding and the ladies so beautiful. We danced a sort of conga called a Kolo all arm in arm, and the musicians were 110%, people putting money onto their instruments in appreciation. I love that kind of music, and was surprised at how many variants of the stringed instruments there were. Culture is vital its like the life blood of the communities and a glue that keeps like people together. Bless you, stay safe, and wise

@thebiggestpanda1 rubbish we still outnumber them and they do not know the hell they will face if they try. Youth does not match skill and brain especially if many of those brains also have fighting and martial arts skills and former military service. Our ancestors fought with ANY weapon we can do the same.

@Anglo-Brit I am well aware of that history, Russia has only been adversaries because of the machinations of western politicians creating the situations and it continues today. WW1 and the Revolution of 1917 caused by the Kaiser for his own aims including oil from Baghdad (Berlin Baghdad railway going through Serbia needed a war to control it) same as Syria and Serbia today for the pipeline which superceded the railway scheme which the USA wanted to go through both. Now we have Gaza because the UK USA want to get their hands on the oil and gas reserves. Once again they target Russia to cover their real aims.

Conscription in the even of war is pointless, it takes at least 8 months if not more to train a basic infantryman, by that time the war would be over and most of us if not all dead. This is not the same timeline as ww2. We also do NOT have the infrastructure or establishment to draw Regular troops away to act as Instructors this is not the days of National Service after ww2. The enterprise would be enormous and horrendously costly and have one result we would all be dead before they even were basically trained.

@Patchyroe I agree, it took me 12 months to be trained to be a decent infantryman, and sending anyone without that basic level of training and practice into service is a criminal act. As one of the Colour Sergeants that trained me stated "no matter what the speciality, in the end we are all riflemen, and an Army needs that basic and standard level right across the board" As far as i am concerned every soldier is a human being and no damned politician has the right in this day and age to waste people's lives on an ego trip. That has been done too often in the last 40 years.

@unusedsub3003 Indian troops were fighting alongside us in Burma, also Gurkhas and African soldiers. Sikh wounded were burned to death by the Japanese and so later Japs were never taken prisoner by the Indian troops, and i cannot blame them.
