  1. Jimmy, you are looking at this the way the average person on the street would; you are assuming the population remains growing at the same rate. You should be looking at this the way the plutocrats see "their" problem. Why would they want to spend a lot of money on infrastructure, solar and wind energy, electric cars, and so much more when the plutocrats see all this as irrelevant if much of the population ceases to exist? Remember, the plutocrats believe only in the individual; as Thatcher said, "There is no such thing as society". As far as the plutocrats are concerned there are too many people on the planet and they believe it is their job to do a little Malthusian depopulation. If you have ever studied Neoliberalism closely, you can see it is pure Darwinian Capitalist and eugenic by nature. The winners (criminals) take it all and there is nothing left for anyone else. Have you noticed not only is the wage growth stagnant, the average life expectancy is in decline and the closer you look at the lower end of the income and wealth spectrum, the more rapidly it is declining. It appears the plutocrats are quite aware of Anthropogenic Climate Change and of the oncoming technology based shortage of jobs and resources for the current population of a dying planet. To me it appears the plutocrats intend for the majority to perish during this period of the sixth great (Anthropocene) extinction event. It could happen mostly undetected over a period of decades or it could all happen on a lazy Sunday afternoon with a limited nuclear war. So as you watch Wall Street absorb your retirement savings; as the plutocrats slowly remove Medicare and watch the "useless eaters" slowly die and then remove Medicaid and watch the Romney non-taxpayers slowly fade away with social security, the plutocrats will finally have the planet all to themselves. No wonder they are buying property in New Zealand. So how many people do the plutocrats believe should be on the planet? Maybe a visit to the Georgia Guidestones may give some insight into their intent.
