For the elites, the word "citizen" and "Citizens’ United" means the elite citizens who are united against the people. The word "democracy" for the elites describes all the processes by which the elites control their government puppets and the media that, in turn, control the people. Given this interpretation of the words “citizen” and “democracy”, you will get a new understanding of the phrase, "Social media is a threat to our democracy".
