  1. I wouldn't use the word "hopeless" as it gives the wrong description of the problem. Maybe consider replacing "hopeless" with either: bought, treacherous, traitorous, sellouts, etc. Anything except hopeless as hopeless infers incompetence while their intent is clearly to screw the people.
