As for history preceding the nuclear attack on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, I prefer Oliver Stone’s researched history over state published propaganda any day. The bottom line is the destruction of these cities was justified on the basis of sending a message to the Soviet Union. Remember Japan was flirting with surrender to Soviet troops prior to any talk of surrender to America. In fact, Harry Truman waited to see if the atomic tests were successful just before he revealed the threat to the Soviet Union. Never forget the extensive list of False Flags (Gulf of Tonkin), and potential False Flags (Operation Northwoods) throughout US history. Never trust state propaganda.

I always look at the majority who want easy answers and unluckily they are easily manipulated and they vote. Being a Mechanical Engineer with postgraduate experience in Finite Element Mathematics and Stress Analysis and having some exposure to structural design, alarm bells go off every time I see a video of Building 7 collapse at free fall acceleration into its own footprint. In my opinion, both major parties are corrupt, support foreign aggression and domestic worker suppression to satisfy their owners. The Republicrats should never be considered. It is amazing how Hartmann castigates those searching for a third party alternative. Showing his poor emotional control and judgement while abusing the alternative seekers was one of the best tells of Hartmann’s character. Have you ever noticed when you present facts that conflict with Hartmann’s recollection of history or present hard facts that may compromise Hillary’s character, the comments are either ghost banned or removed. You may wish to check the ratio of number of comments to views to get some idea of how few comments there are on this site as some may have been suppressed or removed. You are correct; if you wish to spend time on Hartmann’s page, don’t take his comments too seriously and always research the “facts” that he presents.

For something more recent, you could also look at the US overthrow of the elected government in Ukraine where Nuland admits the US spent 5 billion to facilitate the coup. Remember, the Libertarian party arouse from the American Liberty League; many of whose founders were responsible for the 1934 (Smedley Butler foiled) coup against the Roosevelt administration. Not only should you raise the Wall Street push back against the new deal but Libertarians do not accept democracy. Their common metaphor is – Two wolves and a sheep voting on what is for lunch.   18. The US already has a 266% Tariff on Steel from China. Thomas, I would not say that there are no tariff walls on American Imports. The problem is that the US justifies the tariff on what they say is "below fair price". Who defines fair price? Why not use below the cost of production as the dumping parameter? Anyway, the US can't be the only entity that can put a tariff on steel as it then skews the world steel market. The steel industry workers in the UK and Australia are losing their jobs as there are either no tariffs or only a 20% tariff on steel for the EU. If one country puts an import tariff on imports; all countries should be capable of putting a tariff on imports without trade penalties.

Obama slaughtered tens of thousands in Libya and after giving Gaddafi a bayonet enema; Obama then turned Libya into a failed state with slave markets. Obama started the CIA Operation “Timber Sycamore” in Libya in an attempt to install a Washington puppet; and that resulted in the deaths of half a million Syrian citizens. And to add insult to injury, after the destruction of Syria this corrupt Fourth Reich Empire has now applied sanctions on Syria to inhibit rebuilding efforts. And this is just a small fraction of US atrocities for resources and hegemony. It goes into considerable detail around the era of the National Association of Manufacturers and the American Liberty League; the precursor of the contemporary Libertarian movement. And I must say, you're understanding of actual US history together with your unbiased analysis is very impressive. If Hartmann was serious about conveying historical facts, he could certainly take a history lesson from you. And as you would have noticed, any exposure of Hartmann's treachery is rapidly removed from the comments.

If you want an interesting piece of history; even much of the Cold War was a scam. If you read Princeton history Professor, Kevin M Kruse's book, "One Nation Under God: How Corporate America Invented Christian America", you will see the oligarchs feared Washington (Eisenhower) much more than they feared the Soviets. Yes, the oligarchs feared the president who warned the people of the threat of the oligarchs' "Military Industrial Complex" in his outgoing speech, far more than the fabricated Soviet threat. This so easily explains the inverted "Missile Gap" and so much more. So the big question isn't about the convenient fool Trump; it's about what scam will the Democratic Establishment create ow that Trump is dwindling to induce fear into its gullible, ignorant, and yet receptive rubes; rubes ready and receptive for their next round of brainwashing? And keep them running back to the bosom of covert treachery – the Democratic Establishment. And remember Hartmann, you even interviewed Professor Kevin M Kruse on you show once, but sadly (or conveniently) you asked him all the wrong questions. When you select a guest that could spill the beans on the farce of US democracy, the crimes of Empire, and especially the treachery of the Democratic Party, you tend to have a preplanned avoidance strategy in place before you start the interview.

Remember when Hartmann criticized the Bolivian Election and promoted the Bolivian Coup; and now we have learned from MIT studies the Election was legitimate and the military coup that tarred and feathered members of the government, threatened Morales’ family and burned down their houses, was found to be backed by US imperial interests. Remember when Hartmann criticized the Venezuelan government for their poor economic management, never mentioning once the CIA coup of 2002, never mentioning once Obama’s sanctions on Venezuela that has killed tens of thousands of Venezuelans. Remember Hartmann’s criticism of Assange and how he couldn’t wait for the extradition. After all Assange did expose US Imperial War Crimes; he must be prosecuted. Hartmann has learned well from his associate in crime, Rahm Emanuel; who famously said, “You never let a serious crisis go to waste. And what I mean by that it's an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before.” So when is Hartmann going to come out of the Imperial Closet and admit he is nothing more than an Imperialist Corporate Liberal or a Republican Imperialist. As Bloomberg and Warren have recently shown, these two are easily interchangeable.

This is only the start; we have seen the tax cuts that only benefit the wealthy; the next step might be allowing the oligarchs to mine national parks for profit and it should only accelerate from there. This is their strategy; progressively hand over the country and its people to the ruling class until it makes the feculent Democrats start looking good as an option. The consolidation of media ownership and "Citizens United" certainly consolidated the oligarchs control of the fake political process, but the oligarchs have always been in control. People look at Roosevelt as a politician of the people just because of the New Deal. Roosevelt was forced into the New Deal by threats of revolution by the Communist, Socialist, and Union movements and he even admitted he saved Capitalism. But when a true politician of the people (Henry Wallace) who had the popular vote came to stand for president, the DNC of the day did a Bernie Sanders and kneecapped him and installed the Wall Street compliant Trueman. Only looking at recent history distorts ones perception of what is possible. It is possible to have democracy but not with a materialistic, ignorant, lazy and apathetic population feverishly accepting the short term benefits of empire and not looking at the consequences. You can see this in the recent statement by the puppet president Trump; justifying arm sales to Saudi Arabia on the basis "if we don't, someone else will"; and the immorally corrupt morons who vote, accept this without question. In my opinion, this immoral acceptance is based on the historical unquestioning of the premise of Manifest Destiny and the Monroe Doctrine that has corrupted the population.
