Hartmann pretends he doesn't understand how "some" Democrats appear to be "paid off". It appears Hartmann doesn't remember how Hillary was so well reimbursed ($100M) for her "speeches" to Wall Street. It appears Hartmann doesn't understand that insider trading is rife within politics; insider trading that conveniently pays off politicians for services rendered. After covering politics for so many years, Hartmann must realize that all Democrats (just like Republicans) are "paid off". For example, Pelosi is on her way to her second $100 million; you don't get that wealthy by serving the people. You can't accumulate that much wealth ethically, even with a salary of $194K. Even Biden's son was selling his father's position to extract a director's fee from Burisma in the Ukraine. It's a "Big Club"; and you ain't in it!

But Hartmann's job is to make excuses for, and sell you on the Democratic establishment before the next election. The Democrats didn't betray you, they just had a bad run of luck; or they just "miscalculated" or they made a "mistake"; or the Republican resistance was too strong. Just pick one - LMAO.

@mischevious I believe "cognitive dissonance" is too kind as that infers some ignorance and a lot of internal conflict. I believe the words treachery, betrayal, and being paid for services rendered, describe the Hartmann condition more accurately. Hartmann is just a microcosm of the Democratic Party itself.

@mischevious : If it was only Hartmann pushing "the lesser of two evils"; but Hartmann also pretends he is a "Progressive" while promoting scams like the now defunct Russiagate to distract from the fact the Democratic establishment screwed the politically flexible Bernie out of his 2016 opportunity. All documented in the Podesta emails; the content of which Hartmann would never discuss. Hartmann first supported the CIA coup of Bolivia and at the start wanted to see Julian Assange prosecuted before he realized his now-obvious treachery was compromising his "progressive" credentials. Hartmann is no Progressive; he is a Clinton corporate imperialist in disguise recruited to support US imperialism and sell the plutocrats the "lesser of two evils" narrative. But Hartmann isn't alone in his treachery, there are many others that push the interests of the plutocrats' corporate establishment at the expense of democracy. So it makes sense when you see Hartmann aligning himself with actual progressives like Richard Wolff to build his fake progressive credentials to scam his audience. Many of his genuine guests (e.g. Thomas Frank) have used Hartmann's platform to get out their "Corporate Liberal" message, but even they have given up in disgust. Even the more strategically intelligent progressives like Chris Hedges well understand the Hartmann scam and now avoid him like the plague. So it makes sense when you see Hartmann selling his viewers on maintaining the status quo for the plutocrats that own and control the US. The panicked expression on Hartmann's face when someone mentions a "third party" makes me laugh. Notice how Hartmann also sells the Democrat "Republican Fear" to his listeners; like tapping rats on the nose in a psychological experiment to ensure they follow the intended path. And Hartmann isn't finished yet; I'm sure the Clinton liberals have a lot more "Trump" fear lined up to ensure two party totalitarianism rules for decades to come. When the "Trump" icon is worn out and is no longer effective at scaring the gullible, I'm sure the new Podestas and Wassermann-Schultzs of the corporate Democrats will ensure there will be another distasteful oaf conveniently selected to irritate the sensibilities of the Limousine liberals sometime soon. And Hartmann will play his part until the money runs out.

@onomatopoeia162003 : After exposing the Liberals as manipulative scam merchants in his book "Listen Liberal", I doubt you will ever see Thomas Frank on Hartmann's channel ever again. Remember, Hartmann's job is to sell the Democratic establishment to the gullible.

@onomatopoeia162003 : It's irrelevant what they were yesterday as thanks to the Liberal adherence to McCarthyism, the days of the real populist left are long gone and now even a "Democrat" president (Obama) openly calls himself a moderate Republican. What's important is who and what these opportunist and noxious liberal chameleons are today. As for repeating the "New Deal"; that's not possible. After WW2, these Liberals played a major role in devastating socialist and union movements and thanks to a successful Liberal-Republican soft-power campaign by Madison Avenue and Hollywood; what remains today is just David and Goliath. And even if the "New Deal" could be repeated by the infirmed reprobate Biden, it would only get unwound again by the plutocrats and their Liberal allies in the future. Remember the words of Einstein, "Insanity is doing the same thing again and again, and expecting different results". And always remember, the Liberal always aids the plutocrat by working for them behind a curtain while feigning hostility to create the illusion of adversarial politics and democracy.
