@auntiebobbolink : So what to do about it? - Find a way out of the two-party duopoly that has destroyed any semblance of actual democracy. Media outlets like MSNBC (and Hartmann) will always attempt to induce fear and push you towards the Democratic Part just as FOX and their cronies will also attempt to induce fear and push you towards the Republican Party. This is just a game of Good-Cop/Bad-Cop to keep you off balance and to continue swinging the political pendulum to maintain Wall Street's monopolistic control. Have you noticed whether it’s Bush or Obama or Trump or Biden, little has actually ever changed? Your real enemy is the plutocrats, their corporations, and their financial sector control. What you see on television is just politicians from both parties in a choreographed stage show to give the impression of an adversarial relationship, but it’s only a Hollywood production to create the illusion of choice and democracy.
So what to do about it? - The last time this happened was in the late 1920 and early 30s, but there is no longer a Communist Party, a Socialist Party, or Union movements that can threaten the hegemony of today's plutocrats. And the plutocrats and their domestic henchmen (FBI) have made short work of any corporate resistance since those early days. Since the 1933 New Deal, the plutocrats, their federal henchmen, and their political minions in both parties and in all branches of government have implemented a campaign to turn words like “Union”, “Socialist” and "Collective" into pejoratives. And thanks to Hollywood and other media propaganda, they have done an excellent job. That treachery must be undone and resurrecting Collectives and Unions will take some time. In the meantime, try to create your own small movement and stop playing that perpetual game of political Good-Cop/Bad-Cop. Avoid those (like MSNBC, CNN, FOX or Hartmann) whose job it is to keep you in fear of the “Russians”, or the “Chinese”, or “Trump”, or “Biden”; avoid those who use remnants of the McCarthy era strategies like "Reds under the bed" or "Duck and Cover" to do so. Once you understand it's just one big psyop, you will be liberated. This is just a strategy to induce fear exactly the same as was used by the plutocrats and their federal minions (FBI) in the 1950s & 60s to redirect your attention from what is important. So don't be one of those who Gore Vidal was thinking about when he coined the phrase "The United States of Amnesia".
So what to do about it? - Don't fund or vote for either party and look for a real alternative; possibly a party whose policies more closely represent your needs. You may consider voting for a "third party" as being a waste of time, but if enough follow this will eventually work. How many times can you be fooled into believing the perpetual lies of the oscillating establishment candidates (Clinton (D), Bush (R), Obama (D), Trump (R), and now Biden (D)) as they scam you into perpetuating the status quo? It will take some time to reach critical mass, but spread the message and educate as many as possible. If there is one thing the plutocrats and their controlled media (including Hartmann) fear is the possibility of both progressives and conservatives coming together against the corruption. Think about how well the plutocrats’ Divide-and-Conquer strategies have worked since Eisenhower was president. Always remember, the job of these traitors is to ensure they maintain control by manipulating your thoughts using techniques like stimulating primordial tribal emotions, and then setting you at each other's throats.

But sadly, Hartmann isn't telling you the whole truth. . The 1933 against the Roosevelt administration didn't intend to kill Roosevelt, it was intended to sideline Roosevelt into a puppet ceremonial role (much like there is now in the White House), and have an army of 500,000 selective troops run the administration (If you replace the word "troops" with "Wall Street and Military Industrial Complex executives"; that's fundamentally how the government is run now).
And Hartmann was wrong about Roosevelt's intent; Roosevelt was a tool of Wall Street, and just like Obama, Roosevelt was a proficient thespian. Roosevelt betrayed the people when he failed to prosecute the plutocrats that instigated the coup, but he could have done little else as many of those same plutocrats owned Roosevelt. I liken Roosevelt's betrayal of the people and democracy to that of Obama when he said, "Look forward, not back"; when Obama intentionally failed to prosecute the torturers and war criminals of the Bush administration. So always remember – “It’s a Big Club, and you ain’t in it”.

Jan 6 was "Wall Street Putsch" part 2 :
Unlike January the 6th, the 1933 coup against Roosevelt was real; it wasn't just a couple of FBI informers recruited by the FBI to convince a pack of discontented and manipulated rag-tag rubes from southern states to break in to a government building. Everyone knew these petulant discontents were converging on the Capitol and no actions were carried out to stop them - WHY? Even on the day, the Capitol police acted impotent and only one "insurrectionist" was injured (shot) and sadly died? I wonder why no actions were ever attempted to secure the Capitol building? Maybe a temporary security fence may have helped? But those gullible coerced and delusional rubes were allowed to just storm the building? I wonder why? Like the now defunct "Russiagate", January the 6th was designed to distract the people from the treachery around them. That's why it was played up so much by the media. Like Russiagate was designed to stop people asking questions about the Podesta emails and the Democratic establishment's treachery against Bernie, January the 6th was also designed to distract from the fact the Democratic establishment was screwing Bernie yet again. But conveniently no one remembers the Clinton Democratic Party application (the app) used to screw Bernie in the Iowa primaries; no one remembers how the establishment "convinced" all the contenders to drop out so that Biden could crush Bernie with the help of the media. If you ask me, January the 6th was more successful than Russiagate at covering up the treachery of the Democratic establishment against Bernie. Notice how the 1933 coup is never mentioned in history books or the media. Unlike January the 6th, notice how it was carefully designed to seamlessly merge the 500,000 strong military traitors with government functions and slowly subvert the Roosevelt administration undetected until it was too late. This is a long way from the highly publicized rag-tag team of confused Trump supporters scammed into breaking a few windows. But in the 1933 coup it was intended Roosevelt would stay on as a puppet; similar to the role Biden, Trump, or Obama held during their tenure. As for Hartmann's pathetic excuse (because he didn't want to give them publicity) for Roosevelt's inaction; understand that Hartmann is there to sell you on false hope of the Democratic establishment. Hartmann will never intentionally expose the historical treachery of the Democratic establishment; hence the pathetic attempt to cover up Roosevelt's treachery. Hartmann will never admit the Democratic Party is owned and controlled by Wall Street; and Hartmann willingly sells you on the idea that Manchin is the exception and not the rule. And when it comes time to again vote in the next federal election, Hartmann will be pulling out all stops to ensure you vote for the Democratic establishment and maintain Wall Street's status quo. You should be under no illusions about Hartmann; if an anti Wall Street real progressive was ever successful in a primary bid, Hartmann would be pushing you to vote Republican to maintain the status quo. You may wonder why you never see Chris Hedges on this program and now I hope you understand why; even the moderate Thomas Frank appears unwilling to appear after people have absorbed the truths of "Listen Liberal".

At last, Hartmann gives a somewhat accurate account of history. The only parts where Hartmann got it wrong was the 1933 against the Roosevelt administration didn't intend to kill Roosevelt, it was intended to sideline Roosevelt into a puppet ceremonial role (much like there is now in the White House), and have an army of 500,000 selective troops run the administration (If you replace the word "troops" with "Wall Street and Military Industrial Complex executives"; that's fundamentally how the government is run now).
