  1. The US already has a 266% Tariff on Steel from China. Thomas, I would not say that there are no tariff walls on American Imports. The problem is that the US justifies the tariff on what they say is "below fair price". Who defines fair price? Why not use below the cost of production as the dumping parameter? Anyway, the US can't be the only entity that can put a tariff on steel as it then skews the world steel market. The steel industry workers in the UK and Australia are losing their jobs as there are either no tariffs or only a 20% tariff on steel for the EU. If one country puts an import tariff on imports; all countries should be capable of putting a tariff on imports without trade penalties.
