It’s fascinating listening to Hartmann attempting to railroad Greg Palast while attempting to BS his audience on the “legitimate” need to registering with a party to vote. In other countries, all you need is to be on an electoral roll so they can check who has voted; then you can vote for any candidate on the ballot. Now listen to Hartmann, 06:40 “I think you can actually make a case for closed primaries; being a member of the party and voting in the party’s primaries; it’s like being a member of a club. You have some loyalty to that club; you put some effort into that club; um, into that party.” Have you ever heard such crap? The only purpose for the party on Election Day is to manage the polling station and accurately tabulate the votes – period. There is no “Club”. Oh wait, I could be wrong; this may be the same “Club” George Carlin describes, “It's a big club, and you ain’t in it. You and I are not in the big club. And by the way, it's the same big club they use to beat you over the head with all day long when they tell you what to believe. All day long beating you over the head in their media telling you what to believe, what to think and what to buy. The table is tilted folks. The game is rigged.”
But I digress,
So why does the party require you to register with that party just to vote. I always thought your vote should be anonymous? If the elite knew how you intended to vote, it may change their strategy of manipulating you. Just imagine if a corrupt company that specializes in manipulating the public (e.g. Cambridge Analytica) was able to determine who intended to vote for which party? Just imagine what they could achieve if they had access to these records? Sure, you can register on the day, but how many people are going to be bothered to do that? So this isn’t only voter suppression, it’s also a way for the establishment to know the individual’s vote prior to the election and act accordingly. “It's a big club, and you ain’t in it.” So don’t forget the magic word, “Crossover Ballot” because they will be “Breaking the DNC Law”, if they give you that magic name. I wonder when Hartmann is going to again have his friend Tom Perez on his show.
