Thomas, you are correct; the reason that reality TV shows carefully scripts personalities is to utilize Edward Bernays philosophy of “Public Opinion”, which is, “In place of thoughts it has impulses, habits, and emotions.” The reason that actors, professional or not, go into politics for the same reason – to stimulate the emotions of the stupid and ignorant. Oligarchs are bombarding these people with news from a controlled and compromised media. Combine this with actor candidates that only stimulate the masses’ fear and greed; and you have to ask what type of a Democracy exists. Combine this with Superdelegates, brokered conventions, committees that change rules, Corporate and foreign owned Congress and Senate, and a Supreme Courts that install presidents; do you really expect a democracy to function? Thomas, have you ever considered a benevolent dictatorship. That usually works under these circumstances; at least for a while. Maybe you should do a show on Edward Bernays' "Propaganda" and let people know part the machine that is controlling them.
