Patent extensions and the Neoliberal push towards a rentier economy and removal of national sovereign rights are some of the fundamentals of the TPP and TTIP trade agreements. These trade agreements have been verbally rejected by Hillary and Donald to the relief of many. Why did Obama yesterday, give an excuse that confirmed these corporate fascist trade deals were still being pushed through the system? Paraphrasing; Obama said there was no time for the US to structure an independent trade deal with Britain after BREXIT as the trade representatives had their hands full with the TPP and TTIP. Why would Obama continue to push these trade deals when Hillary is against them? Is Hillary going to use the excuse of concussion to forget about her verbal agreement with the American people? I believe there may be an exercise in deception on the agenda. As for your point on the corporate capture of taxpayer funded medical research. This has always occurred. Like other transfer mechanisms created by the corporate government, (externalities - pollution), this is just another method of wealth transfer.
