Comments by "Animal Farm" (@animalfarm7467) on "Is Trump Just a Symptom of a Much Larger Problem? (2018)" video.
What the caller doesn’t appear to understand is Hartmann’s job is to support the status quo. By continually criticizing Trump, Hartmann is attempting to distract from the real problems within the system. Hartmann is attempting to stop people asking “Why can’t I vote against the interests of Goldman Sachs” or “Why can’t I vote for a party that’s against the imperial wars?” or “Why can’t I vote for a party serious about Medicare for all?” or “Why do the oligarchs fill the government with their minions?” What you will get instead is Trump rhetoric to distract; what you will get is Hartmann selling you Pelosi or Clinton or Perez or anyone else whose role it is to maintain the status quo. You may have noticed from Hartmann’s comment, 00:46 “I think we can walk and chew gum at the same time”, Hartmann has no interest in attempting to address the callers query; Hartmann is only interested in supporting the status quo. Hartman then turns to the oldest strategy of them all – induce fear in the audience. It worked on 9/11 to justify an illegal war and Hartmann knows it will also work for him. Hartmann runs the old – Trump will destroy the economy or Trump will start WW3. I have news for you; the economy has already been fatally wounded by previous administrations; it has had a transient surge and soon it will be looking for a place to die. The other big news item for you is we have been in foreign imperial wars to benefit the oligarchs since at least the end of the nineteenth century (Spanish-American War) and nothing Trump can say or do will change the oligarchs’ imperial intent. The caller should understand he is correct when he criticizes the system because as Jimmy Carter said, the US is no longer a democracy but an Oligarchy. And if the US is an oligarchy, Trump is just a puppet of this oligarchy. The oligarchs have selected Trump just as they select the real power in the executive branch. Maybe you can remember how Citi Group selected almost the entire executive staff of the Obama administration. Trump takes orders and asks how high to jump; trumps reads from notes and Autocues and in my opinion has oligarchs’ puppets writing his tweets. Have you ever noticed when Trump doesn’t have a prompt his rhetoric sounds even more incoherent than that of Bush? Trump has no power within the establishment; he is only a puppet and an intentional target for ridicule. So my advice to the caller is to take Hartmann’s message with a grain of salt and be careful as Hartmann understands the strategy that true deception is a blending of truth and lies. You should only watch these videos to get some insight into the latest strategy the oligarchs use to manipulate the fools that take this garbage seriously.

Ah yes, the old Boss Tweed, "I don't care who does the electing, so long as I get to do the nominating".

@guyoflife : Yes, that appears to be Hartmann's role in life; keep the rubes distracted by throwing rotten tomatoes at the clown in the Oval Office; make sure these same rubes keep voting for either one of the oligarch's political parties; and continue to push the scam that change (Hope and Change) is possible. it appears Hartmann is the Alex Jones equivalent of the Corporate Democrats. At least Jones admitted in court he is just "role playing" for which he is handsomely remunerated. When will Hartmann also admit he is also controlled opposition being paid to maintain the status quo?

@guyoflife : Yes, what Hartmann says and does are two totally different things. One minute he makes statements like putting limits on inequality and the next minute he is selling his rubes on Perez and Pelosi; Perez is an oligarch sycophant installed to ensure Wall Street maintains control and all Pelosi can say is "We're all capitalists now" when asked about inequality, the system, and Medicare for all. Hartmann isn't a stupid man but by his inconsistencies he must believe his audience are morons.
