  1. Infrastructure is only one small facet of the systemic decline of Empire. Everyone needs to understand that Thomas is correct - the people are being bled dry. Look at wealth inequality, the corrupt branches of government, corporate socialism, too big to fail and TARP, the FED bailing out European Banks, military spending, etc. etc. All thinking people have gone through similar lists so many times it is pathetic. From Carter and Princeton University we know that America is no longer a functional democracy and government policy does not reflect the will of the people. The sad thing is that when the military will be needed it will no longer be able to be funded. At the same time, all the devastation, aggression, and butchery that have been imperially imposed on other nations by these criminals will eventually come home to roost. This may start in years or decades but it will start, and the American people will have to fend for themselves. The criminals will probably use this future threat to extract the last dollar from as far forward in time that can be reached by debt. By then I expect the criminals and their wealth will be in secure locations watching the devastation they caused start to unfold. It is the sad old tale of the criminals bolting with the booty and the apathetic and ignorant rubes wondering what happened.
