The only difference between Democrats and Republicans is it's the job of the Democrats to create the illusion of choice using such tools as "Identity Politics" and to ensure a real alternative never makes it inauguration.   2. Unless manufacturing and its associated disciplines (e.g. R&D) are rejuvenated, the US is doomed. It can't exist only with empire, the military industrial complex, and manipulating the financial system (sanctions). If people believe Powell and actually believe they can compensate by printing as much as needed while maintaining historically high levels of consumption; that's the road to eventual dollar devaluation. Wall Street sold out the people decades ago when they exported labor, technology, and manufacturing hardware to developing nations to improve profits. Now they are attempting to get China to shoot itself in the foot; that's not going to happen. The days of exporting US dollars in exchange for goods and services is over; welcome to the new world.
