Let’s analyze Mark Pocan’s quote, 8.05 “I think the thing that we need to do right now more than anything is to make sure we stop these loopholes in ways they try to not pay taxes and not be good corporate citizens in the US because they are going to keep their headquarters here . . . yarda yarda yarda . . . we need to stop those kind of practices”. What a load of crap; how many times have we heard this rhetoric. Loopholes are not a naturally occurring phenomena; politicians create tax loopholes and tax havens for their corporate masters to minimize corporate tax and transfer the tax burden onto the working class. This idiot still uses the multiple oxymoron “good corporate citizen”; that only has some meaning when you consider the term Citizens United. The caller’s idea of introducing worker co-ops appears to have rattled the confidence of the politician’s ongoing access to the corporate teat. It was interesting to see how rapidly the corporate lap-dog Pocan backed away from that idea. Doesn’t Pocan remind you of the typical corporate Democrat; promising pie-in-the-sky for votes while having the clear intent never to deliver. I believe the caller was on the right track and it was a pity her idea wasn’t given some credit. Corporations and the two party political system are run by sociopaths and psychopaths with the clear intent to defraud the American people – period. Sorry, I can’t watch another sleazy politician dump another pile of feculent excuses onto the American public.
