Scott tends to forget the real intent of NATO as stated by the original Secretary General, Britain's Lord Ismay — "The alliance's purpose is to keep the Soviet Union out, the Americans in, and the Germans down." Russian cheap energy (Nordstream) has ended; the Germany economy is headed for devastation; and US oil & Gas companies are making a killing selling a desperate nation LNG. It appears the strategic goals of NATO and the US have been achieved.
