  1. I just don’t understand why we have to get involved? - It's very simple why the Empire is attempting to crush Venezuela. Some years ago US oligarchs (Koch Industries) were exploiting the largest oil reserve on the planet filled with Venezuelan heavy crude oil for which their Gulf refineries were designed. When Chavez came to power, he renegotiated the oil price and this sent the plutocrats into a spin. The Kochs attempted to use the Canadian Tar Sands oil in their Corpus Christi refinery but as you well know there is a lot of political trouble with the pipeline they intended to use. Now the Kochs are back with a vengeance and they have their minions (Pence, Pompeo, Rubio. etc) in the right places to carry out the coup to return Venezuelan oil to their hands. The Washington puppet Guaidó is only there to deliver the oil and to give Washington control of Venezuela. Sure there have been many slip-ups along the way; the failed CIA coup against Chavez in 2002 that was halted by a street protest by the majority, the pathetic assassination attempt on Maduro, but the sanctions have been very effective at turning the people against Maduro; but to date, not effective enough. This is the same strategy the Empire used when Madeline Albright killed half a million children in Iraq through sanctions hoping the population would rise against Saddam, but that too failed. So the plutocrats are reverting to the old propaganda machines like the New York Times and the CIA Washington Post for help in convincing the Useful Idiots of Empire who, at the end of the day, actually pay the bill for the plutocrats’ military aggression of Empire. Being the New York Times, I did expect to see some shills of the plutocrats in the comments, but they are as far as the eye can see. It makes you wonder how many of these are paid to sell the plutocrats narrative and how many are Useful Idiots of Empire that back this imperial aggression through ignorance and stupidity. I guess we will never know. So next time you watch the video of Bolton commenting on how useful Venezuelan oil would be for the US economy, or how he is negotiating with US oil companies to have them exploit Venezuelan oil, you may begin to appreciate what he is talking about. There is even a video of the other Koch puppet Trump saying, "Why aren’t we going to war with Venezuela; it has the oil", before he was elected. So forget all this garbage you hear and read on the mainstream propaganda machines; if you're not a corporate shill and are interested in the facts, go and look for yourselves.

  2. Times Insider - What's so funny about politics? Have I got a story for you! I want you to consider the recent Thomas Friedman article, “Why Is Trump Fighting ISIS in Syria?” Then I would like you to consider the following: Tulsi Gabbard introduced the bill HR608: Stop Arming Terrorists Act, in an attempt to stop the US government arming ISIS. As Tulsi said, "If you or I gave money, weapons or support to al-Qaeda or ISIS, we would be thrown in jail. Yet the U.S. government has been violating this law for years, quietly supporting allies and partners of al-Qaeda, ISIL ... and other terrorist groups with money, weapons and intelligence support, in their fight to overthrow the Syrian government." Now I would like you to consider the Toyota mil spec trucks made in Texas that ISIS is driving; the “accidental” ammunition drops from the US military to ISIS; the leaflets dropped by the US military giving ISIS 30 minutes warning of their impending bombing raid on the convoy of oil trucks filled with oil to be sold in the NATO country Turkey. And it goes on and on . . .  So I’ll tell you what is funny, Friedman’s article is far too late; the US government has been funding, arming, and training its number one enemy of the American people for years. So what is Thomas Friedman trying to do? Possible awaken the more imbecilic and immoral to the idea of the US government should be using mercenaries to oust Assad and put in another puppet government to do their bidding on pipeline access. Maybe Friedman believes his article will make the transition to reality easier when the truth becomes inevitable for the majority.

  3. I see the New York Times is again; depending on the ignorance and apathy of its readers. It wasn’t that long ago (2008) when Cheney was discussing disguising Nave Seals as Iranian sailors, fabricating one of these small vessels, and using the package as a “false-flag” to start a war with Iran. This article can be found on the Thinkprogress website of Jul 31, 2008 titled “EXCLUSIVE: To Provoke War, Cheney Considered Proposal To Dress Up Navy Seals As Iranians And Shoot At Them.” Part of that article reads, “There was a dozen ideas proffered about how to trigger a war. The one that interested me the most was why don’t we build — we in our shipyard — build four or five boats that look like Iranian PT boats. Put Navy seals on them with a lot of arms. And next time one of our boats goes to the Straits of Hormuz, start a shoot-up. Might cost some lives. And it was rejected because you can’t have Americans killing Americans. That’s the kind of — that’s the level of stuff we’re talking about.” Well, you don’t have to have Americans killing Americans in this new false-flag, all you have to do is build some Iranian boats and have Navy seals dress like Iranian sailors and choreograph a false-flag showing “Iranians” attempting to mine shipping in the Gulf. However, I much prefer to listen to the owner of the ship who was told by his crew it was a missile and not a mine. So why is the NYT pushing the idea of Iran mining a vessel when there are independent eyewitnesses giving their account? But to understand the real intent of the US against Iran, you should listen to the Neocon Patrick Clawson. What? You don’t know who Patrick Clawson is? Have a look at the YouTube video named “False Flag AKA 'Crisis Initiation' with Patrick Clawson”. Patrick Clawson, who is currently the Director for Research at the Washington Institute, will explain in detail how to create a false-flag with Iran. And never forget, Iran is on General Wesley Clark’s famous “Seven Countries in Five Years” Pentagon target list. Clawson also gives an account of previous false-flag events the United States has used to start conflicts. Clawson is a valuable source of information if you wish to learn how the US throughout history has used false-flags to start military conflicts.

  7. Sadly the New York Times has correctly explained the effect of oligarchy but falters on the cause. One of the significant reasons democracy is a farce in the US is because of a mainstream media owned by the oligarchs and controlled to keep the population ignorant and compliant. And the corruption within the New York Times is complicit in the intentional dumbing down of the voting public. So why are you running this scam New York Times? Even a Newspaper whose ethics has been compromised for so long must realize the effect of oligarchical rule. Yes, there is populism and demagogues and White Supremacists but there is one underlying cause – oligarchical control; and the New York Times is complicit in the deception. So when are the “bought and paid for” editors of the New York Times going to stop using the excuse of “National Security” when one of their reporters presents a story for publication that could make the oligarchs uncomfortable? So New York Times have you forgotten Chris Hedges; remember when he was forced out when attempting to tell the truth. Does anyone actually believe it was a mistake the New York Times pushed WMDs when the Anglo-American oligarchs were justifying and targeting Iraq for destruction? No, it has the smell of a corrupt media outlet pushing the oligarchs’ narrative to manipulate a population with fake intelligence so the poor misinformed fools would accept the Anglo-American oligarchs’ illegal war of aggression. Sadly, the New York Times continues to use the US democracy as a frame of reference and this creates the construct for a false argument. How many examples do I have to give of the mechanisms the oligarchs use to suppress democracy and remain in control? Consider the Electoral College, the Democratic Party’s Superdelegates, Gerrymandering, etc. etc. and when you are exhausted with the obvious, watch Greg Palast’s documentary, “The Best Democracy Money Can Buy”. And you don’t have to limit your analysis to the electoral system; you may wish to consider the Princeton statistical study showing Government policy has no correlation with the wishes of the public. Even Jimmy Carter admits the US is not a democracy but an oligarchy. So New York Times, why are you inferring the US is a Democracy? The New York Times is just an oligarch controlled propaganda outlet? Democracy cannot exist without an informed population and the New York Times is doing its best to suppress relevant facts. For anyone interested in understanding how the oligarchy manipulates the people and transforms their government into a fascist oligarchy, might I suggest you read Kevin Kruse’s book, “One Nation Under God; How Corporate America Invented Christian America”. This Princeton history professor has done an incredible job of showing much of the history of the US since the New Deal is a construct of the oligarchs as you may have guessed from the title. From the context of this book it is not difficult to understand how the majority of the mainstream media is used to propagandize the population and convince them they are under attack so their tax dollars can be transferred to the oligarchs within such fascist entities as the Military Industrial and Intelligence Complex. Remember, the CIA along with Saudi Arabia admits to funding, arming and training terrorist groups to be used by the oligarchs as part of US foreign policy. These Islamic Terrorists are used to create instability, terrorism, and as a mercenary force to do the bidding of these same oligarchs in nations these oligarchs wish to control. Which nations you might ask; for a start, the 7 countries in 5 years that the US government was going to destroy so eloquently stated by General Wesley Clark in the famous video. The video is worth viewing; it’s on YouTube; just search “7 countries in 5 years”. So New York Times , you are expecting people to accept your questioning the democracy of other nations while accepting the democratic domestic farce of the US appears to be the height of hypocrisy. But there is one thing I have learned from all of this; when the government suppress information in the name of “National Security”, the government has a different meaning of the word “nation” to that of the people. The word “nation” in government lingo means the oligarchs and their army of corporate sycophants. When the government invokes “national security” its intent is to secure the interests of the oligarchs.
