  1. What Sachs is observing at the moment is not a Trump “political moment”; western politicians come and go, but US foreign policy stays the same. Notice how they say Germany has been aligned with the US instead of calling Germany a puppet state. Notice how they use the words "arrogant" and "stupid" to describe the politicians and never use the word "criminal" or "genocidal". It reminds me of when they called the Iraq War a "mistake". Every sentence spoken by Sachs invokes many more questions than it answers. Is this the Orwellian newspeak I have heard so much about? Maybe this is the questionable line Sachs has to walk to maintain tenure at Columbia University?
