  92. A dryer? We never had a dryer and I still don't. A light doesn't use much electricity. Computers do so I don't spend too much time on mine. Yes, I can see a school uniform costing quite a lot. Why a smart meter? I read my meter and can see how much I have used, approximately 27p per kWh for electricity and 70p per unit, about 11 kWh for gas then standing charges added for a month. Nothing wrong with sandwiches, I have cheese sandwiches usually twice a week. Today is the last of my tinned ham. Cheese is for tomorrow and the day after. Home grown lettuce with both. I've done it for years. Does her daughter work? if so then there's extra money coming in. I see a garden at 2,59, grow your own food. Or if it's a communal area get together and grow food. I've a tiny garden which is 10'6" x 8'6" with lettuce of various sizes on shelves in my small lean to greenhouse, 7 sweet corn plants, one tomato plant accidentally growing, runner beans, rhubarb, 3 red currant bushes which made one pot of jam and potatoes enough for 7 meals in an area much smaller than I see here. Half that is larger than mine. There's a council house opposite me with a large garden probably ten times the size of mine and totally overgrown. What a waste. However yes, the price rises will affect me but I don't have a t.v. to stagnate in front of, no fridge since it leaked so no cost there, I do a lot of hand clothes washing, a few inches of water in a bath because I don't want to swim in it and a nice cool bath in this hot weather. What I save in summer helps me in winter. I certainly don't have heating on in summer, wearing shorts and T shirts for these last ten weeks. My bills are low and so were my wages and I'm an o.a.p. now. I'm doing just what I always have done.
