@thespear4083 Mr. Lemme meyer now don't be silly, you must surely get my point, the dear old BBC vented politically, when it should have put forward a rational argument. Whilst there are differences between the situation in Sweden & Brazil they both have a similar policy. How would you feel if a report on the topic by a right wing government covering Swedens approach vented about how liberal they were first ???? Given your background, you aren't stupid, you are just playing that card.

@thespear4083 unless you are God like, you don't have all the answers on this virus, or the approach that should be taken If it's possible, try to put yourself in the position of a Brazilian president...... @thespear4083 I could take the time to find the links about how things have worked out in both those countries, but you could find out yourself, however later on I will give you more information, but I rather think you won't understand my point. In China they took extreme measures, but the leadership remained out of sight until it was safe I think the president knows his people and the conditions (physically and socially) that they live in, it's a hopeless situation. Those that are well read, educated, and intelligent will self isolate, as for the masses it's not possible, therefore the president basically says " I will and die amongst my people " and doesn't hide away, it's that simple.

RECENT RESEARCH FROM CALIFORNIA indicates that the occurrence of the virus in the population effectively means it's less deadly to most in fact 40 X less than they thought Of course it it can be far worse than the flu in some people, and is more contagious. Even in Britain the reaction to the virus is turning out to be overkill I haven't got that much time to waste on you because I am on other threads as well, and if all you have to offer is insults, well that not much is it?

@thespear4083 Just a final spoon feed before I converse with others that put forward reasoned arguments. In both Israel & South Africa they have tried social distancing and largely failed with significant proportion of the population for different reasons. Orthodox Jews and the coronavirus ....... South Africa police operations coronavirus In other words in some parts of the world a policy of social distancing doesnt work
