  1. I live in Britain, my Dad was a German P.O.W During my youth I would hear many men say they were " taking some flak" when they were in trouble. All makes sense, pity Germany lost the war, as the whole of the European & British population is being replaced by the third world

  2. flak. If you're taking flak, chances are you're in a bad situation and taking fire from an enemy. Flak can refer to criticism — or worse, shots from an airplane. Flak came into English as an abbreviation for the German word Fliegerabwehrkanone, meaning 'aircraft-defense gun.
