My dad friend told him this " A British army unit required rubble to cross a river, an occupied house nearby has to be demolished to provide rubble. The German civilian living there was asked to evacuate. He politely asked if he could remove the front and back doors as they might be useful. The German removed the front and back doors and his house was demolished. No Vendetta or violence followed." This is, as far as I know, a true story not Hollywood crap
