I see a young kid who couldn't deal with the world and had no support system. He put himself in his camp and did what he had to to survive. He had no electricity so couldn't store food. He stayed because he had no where else to go. It's sad, I'm sure the camo owners were scared, but in hindsight if Chris could have brought himself to ask for help or work he may not have stolen. But, he probably knew to reveal himself would lead to trouble, the owner of the land he camped on evicting him etc. Sad story in many ways. How can a person replace his eye glasses if he didn't have money, to the comment how creepy it was he had the same glasses. I have every pair of eye glasses I've had throughout my life.

The judge finally released him as he was withering away in jail and they were afraid he would die of starvation. They jailed him mainly to appease outraged camp owners and they caught him breaking in to a camp, and Chris was honest about stealing food.
