  1. I've worked at a motel 20 years and have tried to have the manager donate our used bars to a local collection station. No go. However, she downsized to smaller bars so there's less waste. When I worked in housekeeping years ago I saved the used bars, took them home, grated and then melted and repoured the soap. I made 50 or more very huge bars for free. I still have and use them years later.

  2. There's no reason to do all that prep work, peelers scrapers, just dunk the soap bars for a few seconds in to a huge vat of boiling water. Viola, all microbes and etc gone. The soap itself kills all viruses germs etc. So even used soap is sanitary. Then the soapy boiling water can be used to clean the facility floors.
