I don't in any way think the royal family had anything to do with Diana's death. It her own decisions, acting out of spite toward Hazit Khan because he wouldn't give her a public commitment. She made very fatal mistakes. She should have stayed home in England, kept at least 2 security detail, made wise decisions, quit alerting the media as to her whereabouts all the time, and stayed in the Ritz instead of following Dodi's wishes to go to the estate. Her life was filled with pain, but much of it was her own throwing herself against constrictions placed on her as a royal. She acted out with spite so many times, while having affair after affair throughout her marriage. If she could have set her jealousy of Camilla aside and showed at least affection to Charles she may have been able to salvage if not her bond to Charles but the public marriage and the semblance of a stable family. Charles and Diana admit they did at first love one another, but her erratic behavior I think frightened Charles, he just wanted to get away from her. Yes, the car wreck was a terrible accident but I don't believe for a moment it was preplanned.
